Alright, now that that’s covered, let’s get into the nitty gritty of Healing Blackrock Foundry.

As the Original Healer Quick Tips guide, this is to provide you with a very-quick general outline of what you, the healer, needs to do to get you started. You will only truly understand how each fight works once you begin raiding the content. If we have missed anything or you’re not sure about something, let us know in the comments below so we can make this guide better!

We’ll be releasing the wings of the guide as they are released in LFR in-game. We have included normal/heroic mechanics. LFR is often much easier and if you get a grasp on these mechanics then LFR should be easy for you and you may even be able to venture straight into normal.

Wing One, Slagworks

Oregorger

He gorges the ore.

Oregorger has two phases.

Phase 1, he’ll be stationary.

  • Heal those that cop an Acid Torrent in the face – should be the off-tank first, the alternating tanks thereafter
  • Stack with other range/healers so that it’s easy for the off-tank to cop the Acid Torrent
  • Don’t stand in Retched Blackrock – move with those around you

Phase 2, he goes into a Rolling Fury, choosing a path around the room and Rolling down it.

  • Try and stay out of his rolling path – he faces the way he plans to roll.
  • Heal those that may have gotten in his path as they will have taken significant damage.
  • If he has rolled past you, follow him for a safe path.
  • When he stops he smashes into a wall and causes an earthquake(Earthshaking Collision), damaging the raid. Heal everyone up. With each additional roll and subsequent wall-hit, the damage increases.

Gruul

Burning Crusade Throwback!

  • If you’re knocked back you will gain Petrify. After a time you’ll be frozen and suffer heavy damage. Before this you’ll want to spread out away from others.
  • HoT those with Petrify in anticipation of Shattered. Heal those that have been Shattered if you’re free to do so.
  • Don’t stand under the falling rocks caused by Cave In.
  • Avoid Overhead Smash, which Gruul casts on random players. Heal those who get caught in it.
  • You will probably be assigned(or you will choose) a group for splitting Inferno Slice damage. If you’re knocked back or need to move, be sure to go back to the same group.

Blast Furnace

Far out there’s so much going on in this fight!

Blast Furnace has 3 phases.

Throughout all phases, Blast will occur, damaging all raid members. You will need to keep a constant eye on the Heart of the Mountain’s energy bar. When the bar is full, Blast occurs and healing is required. While the damage is constant and un-avoidable, it is highly predictable.

Phase 1 is all about blowing things up with bombs.

  • Heal through Blast which is constantly occuring.
  • If Bomb is cast on you(you’ll have a debuff and and extra action button), move to the Heat Regulator’s target circle and use the action button.
  • Don’t stand in any Rupture zones (red fire lava stuff).

Phase 2 is about killing Primal Elementalist.

  • Heal through Blast which is constantly occuring.
  • If you’re targeted by Fixate by a Slag Elemental, run to the Primal Elementalist so that when the Slag Elementals die and explode, they’ll hit the Primals and cause them to go Shields Down.
  • Priests and Shamans, Dispel or Purge the Primal Elementalist’s Reactive Earth Shield during this Shields Down time if you get a chance.
  • If you gain the Volatile Fire debuff, run away from others before you explode.

Phase 3

  • Don’t stand in Melt
  • Heal through Blast damage as best you can
  • Heal through Heat which will be on the tanks.
  • That’s it for this phase, so spend that mana!

To be continued…
